Sometimes when I'm feeling down I just pop in a Strangers With CandyDVD and let my cares just slip away. There's nothing like a little Jerri Blank to turn my frown upside down. Amy Sedaris' work absolute is genius, with her contorted face and Comfort Zone outfits, and with the addition of supporting characters played by Stephen Colbert and Paul Dinello you've got a classic comedic gem that stands the test of time. I truly judge people based on whether or not they like this show - it is perhaps for some an acquired taste, but once devoured let the cravings begin.
Laura E. Marcus was born and raised in Montreal, Canada, leaving her beloved city for a Midwestern education in 2001. In 2006 she moved to New York City, putting pen to paper at various publications throughout the city. Her writing has been featured in TRACE, SPIN, Gotham, Los Angeles Confidential, Sur La Terre, Heeb and VenusZine. She lives on a quiet block in the East Village with her two cats Monsieur Petit Cochon and Mr. Littlejeans, but swears she's not a crazy cat lady.
