For the past two years I've received a little birthday gift from author Charlaine Harris: a new Sookie Stackhouse novel! I'm really excited to pick up Dead In The Family, which was released yesterday, and thankfully True Blood's season premiere is just around the corner. HBO's teasers are the perfect way to get revved up, but with only four more minisodes before the June 13th premiere, I'm going to have to find another way to satisfy my hunger. I suppose those other Cold Ones will have to do.

I promise this will be the last time I post about Twilight for a while... it's just that when I saw this clip last week on SNL I laughed 'til my face hurt. It may just have been the wine, but it also could be Bill Hader's amazing impersonation of Robert Pattinson:

When Edward Met Bella...

Oh em gee guys!!! We're only like 17 days away from the premiere of New Moon!!! Can you hear all the Twihards screaming yet? Well get your earplugs ready because the screamathon is about to begin. Round one started this week when Harper's Bazaar released pics from their cover shoot with both Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart. The photo above has been spinning Twihards into a frenzy, as it's basically a recreation of a shot seen in the first Twilight movie. But I'm not a hater, no way! I'm just as excited as a 15-year old girl in Nebraska. Even if the movie is horrible, I'll take any excuse to stare at Robert in all his grungy glory. What can I say? The man loves his hair almost as much as I love mine. It's kismet!

Bite Me!

I'm not going to deny it. I'm not going to pretend like I don't get excited when I hear the word 'Vampire.' But don't you dare say I'm a newcomer. I have my mom to thank for my interest in Vampires. She's loved old school Vampire flicks since she was a wee lass in Venezuela, and who could blame her?! My favorite is Werner Herzog's 1979 remake of Nosferatu - Klaus Kinski was born to play a Vampire. Not surprisingly, in 2009 Vampires are are once again all the rage. Who wants to think about the devastating economy, war, or famine, when we can seek refuge in the fantastical worlds of Twilight or True Blood. Let us pretend that Edward Cullen is real, and Bill Compton will one day utter our names as lasciviously as he says 'Sookie'.
